The Pondera Effect

I'm writing this blog as a chronicle of the events that will occur in the coming weeks. I've made a remarkable discovery about the mind, and the consequences of this finding are truly impressive. I realize that what I'm writing here is not easy to believe at first, but if you will humor me for now and continue reading, you will see that I am not making things up, nor am I taking any liberties with science or logic. Everything that I will explain is completely rational and makes perfect sense.

I've decided to call my discovery The Pondera Effect. Pondera is Latin for equilibrium. By utilizing the Pondera Effect, one can achieve a state of equilibrium in any circumstance. In any torrent of emotion, one can simply tune the emotion out with the greatest of ease. I'm not talking about telling yourself you're not sad when you really are; I'm talking about the complete cessation of negative feelings.

Perhaps more remarkably, one can extend this to gain control of one's body as well. Stretch your legs to a limit that would be very uncomfortable to you, and simply achieve Pondera, and you can sit like that comfortably for as long as you need to. Lift heavy weights. You will feel the effect of the weights on your muscles - Pondera will not allow you to do things that your body can't do - but the heaviest weight will feel like a feather. It will simply not be difficult. The same goes for any difficult task. Achieve Pondera and the most difficult thing you can do will be as easy for you as the easiest thing you can do.

When you consider this for a moment, you may see that you could treat your life like a book, and you can describe the character of yourself pretty much however you want to. Do you want to be more calm in situations? Done. Do you want to be more physically fit? You may as well, because exercising is now just as easy as sitting down.

In my next blog post I will talk a little about what the Pondera Effect is, and how I discovered it. I will do my best to explain it in a way that is useful to others, and I will also explain it in a way that is consistent with science and reason. You will find no dogma here, only observation.
